Rangasetu Fellowship

The “Rangasetu Fellowship” is an annual award for emerging artists in Theatre (writing/directing/acting), Visual Arts (painting, sculpture, installation, etc.), Music (vocal, instrumental, composition), and Dance (classical, contemporary, experimental). It serves as a stepping stone for aspiring artists seeking professional careers. The fellowship, named “RANGASETU,” acts as a bridge between budding artists and the professional world.

Selected candidates receive a monthly grant of Rs 12,000 (totaling Rs One Lakh Twenty Thousand) and must submit a trimonthly creative work report. An expert committee assesses the reports before releasing the next installment of the fellowship. At the fellowship’s conclusion, candidates showcase their projects through stage performances, displays, or exhibitions at Maharashtra Cultural Centre.

The “Adhishthata ” award is presented annually to the backstage artists who have made a huge contribution to the art.

Dr. Ravindra Damle
Smruti Puraskar
Each year, the Dr. Ravindra Damle Smruti Puraskar is presented to support promising theatre groups in their pursuit of experimental work. This award is sponsored by Late Shri Sudheer Damle, Late Smt. Jayashree Damle, and Shubhangi Damle.

Tanveer Sanman
The Tanveer Puraskar is a distinguished award honoring individuals dedicated to a lifetime of commitment to the art of ‘Theatre’. Established by veteran actor Dr. Shreeram Lagoo and Mrs. Deepa Shreeram in memory of their son, who tragically passed away in a train accident at a young age, this award is presented through Dr. Lagoo’s organization, Rupavedh Pratishthan. In addition to the prestigious ‘Tanveer Puraskar’, the Lagoo family also recognizes and honors a promising young theatre artist who demonstrates unwavering dedication to the craft with the ‘Tanveer Natyadharmee Puraskar’. Since 2022, the Maharashtra Cultural Centre in collaboration with Rupavedh Pratishthan has been presenting the Tanveer Natyadharmee Puraskar.
